Can't help myself, proud father and all. My 12yr old son's line from the first game of this year against the top ranked team in Avon:

IP H R ER BB SO NP
6 0 0 0 2 16 86

For those of you not baseball savy, that's called chuckin some peas.

IP=Innings pitched;6
H=Hits allowed;0
R= Runs allowed;0
ER= Earned runs;0
BB= Walks allowed;2
SO= Strikeouts;16!!!!!
NP= # of pitches thrown;86

We won 9-0.

Thank you, T.O. forum post whore extraordinaire.

I'd like to say that it's all in the coaching (me), but I would not be telling the truth. I was a pitcher all through Little League and High School, but I never had the raw talent my son has.

Also, to his credit, he works very hard at it. Today, after the game, he was beating himself up about the 2 walks he allowed. Little bastard is a perfectionist.

Most winners are that way.

It was probably Eileen's side that brought the talent to your son ....

Congrats, Dave...Looks like he's a very talented kid! I'd like to have baseball back in DC, but it doesn't appear it will happen in my lifetime.

I hear MLB calling. (If he's a lefty, send him to my Giants!)
