Default Bathroom upgrade

Recently I was sitting in the kitchen while my wife was taking a shower
when I heard the sound of dripping water in the dining room,
from the chandelier
The tile grout in the shower had given up the ghost and no longer
felt responsible for retaining water.

Normally
the shower should have an impermeable membrane under the tile.
But this one doesn't appear to be doing it's job either.
I'm not entirely upset with updating since we had rust issues when the
water softener acted up and had to be replaced and we haven't been able to get them out.

So it's time to replace the shower stall in the master bath.
Looking at a corian installation. Out for quotes now.
and since we're at it, probably will update the bathroom counters as well.

I'd post pictures but ....

I think that would worry me just a tad. Weren't you afraid that the chandelier would short out?

Have fun! Fortunately, I'm done in the bathroom dept. And any other dept for awhile.

Corian, I am curious on costs of Corian as a shower enclosure. All of mine are completed and I hope they stay that way. Good luck.

As much as I would LOVE to redo two bathrooms and the countertops in my kitchen, I'm (a) too weary of workers in my house and the inconvenience involved in that and (b) too broke to even think about it. After April 17 I'll have a better idea of cash flow (taxes ewwwwwww/ouch). At this point, we're just trying to maintain and get a couple of landscaping projects done. We've sunk a boatload of $$ into this house, but we love it and feel its worth it... maybe. Real estate just keeps dropping, dropping, dropping down here. We've decided if projects are realllllly important for our own quality of life we'll do them. Otherwise, forgetaboutit.

generally speaking water is not a recommended treatment for electrical fixtures.
fortunately the power switch was off which tended to reduce the drama slightly.
I actually was more concerned about finish on the cherry dining room table.

Zippy I'm curious too
I'll Probably know later today.

yeah I'm waiting too.

not quite understanding the delay for the quote. ( no one as ever accused me of excessive patience)
If his quote from the hip is right, he'd be working right now.
