Too funny! Since I am the one that wants our towels and sheets/p.cases looking nice (they are in open wire shelves over our W/D....not in a closet), I usually do the FOLDING 
Kathy thinks that I am nuts but mostly is happy to have me doing SOMETHING productive
PS: We can WALK to a BBandB, so I am going to have to check this out soon....will report back

We just returned from a major shopping trip to BBnB....doing a minor upgrade of our main bathroom. As Andy Warhol said (I think it was him
), "If you can't make it BIG, then COLOR IT".
Anyhow, our purchases included a new set of towels in the trendy "Brick" color. Thus I had a chance to look around .....at least in OUR local BBnB.

But I digress. I don't think "folded cardboard" was mentioned anywhere by the OP or in the link with the pictures in it of foam form displays for the towels.
