Let's see...I saw the Beatles in their first concert in the U.S., here at the DC Coliseum, on my birthday, Feb 11, 1964. Tickets were $4. What's interesting is that, years later (about 2003) I was in Paris walking along the Seine, where there are always art sales, when I saw the poster from that concert. I bought it and framed it.

I saw these guys last week in Myrtle Beach at the University. It was a lot of fun...they actually sounded better live than this youtube video at the bottom of their web site.

As a member of the "Beatles generation" when I listen to their music I often wonder if one of the reasons that there are so many "oldies stations" is because young people today still appreciate good music? Tight work, great harmonies and a melody. In their latter years their lyrics matured as well.

There is little doubt in my mind that their music will live on in history as monumental in it's influence.

As for me as one that does not attend concerts (any more) the group that amazed me in their "cover" of Beatles tunes was a group named 60280 that we heard on a Norwegian Cruise to the Southern Caribbean in Nov of 2004. The members of this band are from the Phillapines and they did a great job of covering the Beatles.

Has anyone else ever heard this band on a cruise?

We went to see the imitation Beatles at the Tropicana in Atlantic City (free tickets). It was bad...we walked out as soon as they took a break

I've always love The Beatles' music. When I was four years old I used to sit and play the 45 of Penny Lane over and over.
