Default Bermuda

I'm thinking of making a return trip to Bermuda, with the +1 of course. Last time I was on a cruise so didn't stay in a hotel. DE Gene has stayed in the Rosedon B&B, which is lovely. I'm also checking out the Royal Palms Hotel. Also lovely. (I think anywhere in Bermuda is lovely.) Anyone have other recommendations? Gene - did you have a location preference for the room at the Rosedon? I have no idea when we will do this - I'm always thinking of my next trip. I've had Puerto Rico on the brain, too.

Hi,

My wife and I were there over the fourth of July. It's a gorgeous place. We stayed at the Fairmont Southampton (my wife found a great deal on hotels.com).

Our favorite restaurants were Coconuts which is at the Reefs, and the Ocean Club at the Fairmont. Both restaurants are right on the water.

We also ate at the Waterlot and Ascot's which is in Hamilton. The food in Bermuda is ok but nothing special (British cooking I guess .

Have a wonderful trip.

Rich

I don't know about the food comment, I'd love to have a bowl of bermuda fish chowder right about now.

We also cruised to Bermuda so I am of no help there. However, I can tell you where NOT to stay on Puerto Rico.

Deb, just saw this post. Obviously, we loved the Rosedon!!! We had a room in the main house vs. the "motel" rooms overlooking the pool. Our room was lovely, and Bea and I really enjoyed sitting on the front porch each morning to eat our breakfast. The Rosedon is very close (a short walk) to all the shops and restaurants in Hamilton. We were celebrating our anniversary there (since that's where we were married), so Bermuda is very special to us. I wish I could remember where we ate our anniversary dinner, but it was in downtown Hamilton, and was at a restaurant recommended by Rachael Ray, and it was delicious. We also loved to drink a brew and have some fish and chips at the Hog Penny Pub, and have a signature Rum Swizzle at the Swizzle Inn.

We love Bermuda!!!

I think it's time to return!

OK...the main house it is. I'd love to go back to Key West, too, but airfares are crazy. Much cheaper to fly to Bermuda.

We visited Bermuda 3 times and our favorite place to stay was Surf Side. We stayed there twice, recently for out 40th anniversery 3 years ago. It is remotely located near Elbow beach and we had a room with 2 bedrooms, a kitchenette and a porch overlooking the ocean high on a cliff. Private beach, yard, pool and nice restaurant. Scooter rental was available nearby. It is not fancy but has lots of charm and is centrally located. Be careful if you rent a scooter. Not as safe as recent visits we made.
