Default Brain supplements

Does anyone take any brain supplements like Predasone, specific vitamins or herbs. My mother had Dementia which turned to Alzheimers. I turn 76 next month and although I misplace keys, glasses and cell phone I think that is just a symptom of aging. My friends call it CRS (Cant remember $hit).

I do not...but I do things like crosswords, etc to keep the brain active. Do you mean prednisone? That is not a supplement but a drug for specific issues.

Thanks, that was enlightening. Now the book I have read on brain health by a noted Physician does mention some of the recommendations in this article. Vitamin E, B vitamins. This book also recommends a healthy diet. Cutting down on sugar, carbs, stress, get a good nights sleep and exercise. I have a low level of stress get 7-8 hours of nightly sleep. High exercise is vital and I do plenty of that. I need to work on reducing my sugar and carb intake. Also brain stimulation through reading, crosswords, tests that are available on line. We are all getting older and these diseases start to show up as we age so a little prevention is very important.

I have Wordscapes app on my Samsung phone. Play it, while waiting for appointments and for food at restaurants. Up to level 480+ now.

FWIIW: I have asked my doctor (in VA) and my Mother's doctor (in NY) about both Prevagen and Focus Factor, and they both said the same thing about them: "They have not found any real clinical proof that they work". When I asked them about Prevagen's claim that it is "clinically proven"? Both of them responded in the same way. They said that they have not seen any supporting documentation in any medical journal.

And it is very expensive. I choose to use my regimen. Much cheaper and there are clinical results which consider these vitamins and food safe and effective.
