Cambridge v Uber

I don't know how things are in other cities and towns, but in New York City the taxi and limo drivers deserve all of the competition they get from Uber. For too long NYC's taxi drivers have acted as if they're special. Refusing to go to certain areas, refusing to pick up people whose looks they didn't like and taking the long way around to bring up the fare. As much as the Taxi and Limo Commission tries to prevent this it's still impossible to get a cab to Brooklyn, especially in the rain, and, very few cabs will stop if you have a suitcase.
I hope Uber is very successful.

^^^ I agree. In other parts of the world there are similar low cost ride systems in place. I remember that in Istanbul they have the Dolmus. Means 'stuffed' in Turkish, and they fill their mini vans to the gills with riders during the busy traffic times of the day. Fares are low, but you might have some guy sitting on your lap.

There is another interesting app called "Monkey Parking". San Francisco is trying to ban this one.
It seems that someone in a public parking spot can use this app to auction off the spot to nearby drivers.
