That's ok but list some examples please.
Jaguar S-Type and the new XJ
BMW, all
Audi A4 and A8
Lotus Elise
Dodge Neon SRT-4
Corvette
GTO
Cadillac CTS-V
Chrysler Crossfire
Mustang
Saturn Red Line
Ford Focus
Ford F 150
Most any Mercedes
Any Porsche, Aston Martin, Maseratti
That cool looking Chevy truck with the convertible top
Chrysler 300C
There are several new cars out that I would probably look into like the Pontiac Solstice and G6, the Chevy Cobalt with the super charger, and the Ford 500.
You can disagree with any of these on "reliability" issues if you like. It wouldn't stop me from taking a good look at all of them if I was in that particular market. For some of these there are comparable Japanese cars that I would also look at. For some there are no comparable Japanese cars.
I may end up with a G35 coupe over the new Mustang, but that would only be after some significant seat time in test drives. Basic transportation sedans are not big on my list. I don't really know much about them, so when the conversation turns to the Accord segment of the market I stare off into space and think about interesting things like the Superbowl.

Honda all the way! If it wasn't for the S2000 I would of bought another prelude or go for the CL or TL at the time.
Since I am going to keep the S2000 forever. I'll have to upgrade the family car from the current Accord Coupe to either a 4door or a CRV...or if I can convince the wife the TSX

Bill,
There are a number of cars & manufacturer's on that list that I too find appealing but there's no denying the list is loaded with land mines from a probability standpoint. Sometimes it's fun to throw caution to the wind.

Bill, I'd like suggest that you buy one of these Diamler-Mopar examples for your upcoming 'next car'....and report back to us in....say.....24 months.
Chrysler-dodge have some very good ideas and designs, regrettably their execution is very flawed. If they would just spend a little more time on detail and quality. and yes 24 months is about right - at that point the trade value of their product plummets and the annoying accessory problems begin!

After the sad experience with my 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo and with the Chevrolet Division in general, it's no more GM cars for me - with the possible exception of Saturn.
Verrry happy with my two Hondas, Fenry and Paco Belle.

I own an '94 Integra and a '00 S2000. My wife has a '02 Outback. These are the only Japanese cars we've ever owned. I doubt either of us will ever own another. It's not that they've been bad cars; it's just that I think we'll find something we like better next time we're in the market.
I tend to side with Legal Bill: there's a lot of interesting cars on the market, and if I like a car I'll put up with a few more quirks than I'd tolerate from a refrigerator, toaster, or other appliance. Like the obnoxious buzz the S2000 makes every time it decelerates from 4k to 3k rpm..
