Car Engines
I am about a generation ahead of most people on here so this may have little interest here.
In the late 1930's one of the U. S. car companies produced more than one engine option to their standard car line. The cars are Chevrolet, Ford, and Plymouth.
What was the car company.
What were the engines.
One of the engines became somewhat famous for what?

You are correct. The standard engine was the 85.
The 60 was used in midget racers as an alternate to the dominant Offy engine.
Bill Vukovich of Indy fame in the 50's was already famous in California for driving a Ford V8 60 "Offy Killer".
From the end of WW2 to about 1950 the midget races were like Nascar is now. Standing room only crowds all over the country.

Hmmmmm....I was thinking of the Chrysler Hemi. I know that was around in the 50's.....maybe even the late 40's
It's interesting to see the Hemi making a return in the Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum...maybe others. I wonder if there is race potential in the new manifestations?
