Like cats but I'm very allergic. They love to rub against my legs but I don't dare pet them because I'd rather not break out, itch, have swollen watery eyes, and congestion. I let them rub against my legs if I have on slacks but not if I'm in shorts. I'm an advocate for keeping cats indoors and not letting them roam.

I had a cat as a kid. Rick had a cat when I met him. I was "so so" on cats at the time, but I got fond of "Maddie" and when she went to kitty heaven.

We didn't get another cat for quite a while. In the last 25+ years, however, we've had a cat (and for several years two) in our home. We when we lost one at 17 years and recently one at 14.

After the loss of our cat in March, we lasted two whole days with not having a cat around. Though we had not planned on getting another cat, it appears, that for us, a house is not a home without a cat. Petfinder.com had listings of many cats needing homes, some at our local humane society. Thelma moved in with us less than a week after losing our 14 year old cat.

My gripe with cats is that they kill song birds just because they can - even well fed and cared for cats. It makes me very cranky.

Not cats who are kept indoors where they are safe. None of my kitties go outside except by accident.

I've had a cat or cats since I was a kid, "kiggy" was one of my first words

I'm typing with my 14 year-old Zoro, on my lap. He's on my lap 90% of the time I'm on the computer. He's Siamese and very affectionate. He could see when I moved to Trabuco Canyon from Acton, but is now 100% blind and navigates by bouncing off furniture and walls. I love cats. I have two. I love German Shepherds too, but I can go away for two or three nights and leave the cats with lots of food, water and two clean cat boxes and they will be fine. Can't do a day away from German Shepherds. I think I'll always have cats. The two I have now are old so they don't get into much trouble, like climbing on counters.

^Zoro. Male and 14 years-old.

^Crystal. Female and 13 years-old.

^Zoro is blind but he can still catch a slow bird by listening to it.

^Naughty kitty. But hey, he's blind so good for him. It was a dove.

I love the doves. I HAD a covey that nested in pine straw behind my azaleas until EVIL BLACK KITTY destroyed them. There is something so wonderful about waking up in the morning to their cooing sounds.

Sorry, Valentine. I know you hate bird killing cats. He's usually just laying out there soaking up the sun.
