I know you know I agree. I have no problems with loving cats and would love to have one of my own if not for the allergy sitch. I've thought about a hairless, but they're a teeny bit creepy looking. My problem is with people who foist their cats onto those of us who if we had them, would keep them indoors and have a heart for all the wildlife they destroy. The Audubon Society has published several articles about free roaming and feral cats who are contributing to a loss in the food supply for eagles, hawks and even large wildlife. Cats are not naturally a part of the wildlife chain and were only introduced by the biggest destroyer of our plant: MAN.

PS: stepping off of soapbox and leaving this thread to those who can play well with others.

When I was a kid, we had a Siamese cat, the meanest thing I ever saw. If you got near him when he was eating he'd try to kill you. His name was Cannibal. Honest.

Cat story: a few years ago we and another couple were invited to dinner at a third couple's house, we didn't know very well. (I had never met them) They had a couple cats. While we were sitting in the living room, adjoining the dining room, I saw one of the cats walking ON the dining room table. I pointed this out to the host, as the cat began licking the butter that was sitting on the table. She got up and removed the cat, leaving the butter sitting there. None of us used any butter at dinner. We've never gone back (or spoken to the hosts) either.

^^ I've seen more birds, including baby song birds, being killed by other birds (Ravens, etc) than by cats. Many birds kill others over territory, etc, and not for food. Hummingbirds will spear each other with their sharp beaks while feeding, and sometimes it's lethal.

and cats chase birds. It's just in their nature.

Dogs chase and kill cats just the same as cats chase and kill birds. Prey instinct. I still love cats and some dogs. I'm way more picky about dogs.

My dad had a mean Siamese cat, too. He was a big male and would bite you if you tried to pet him.

I've had a few Siamese cats (Purronya, China, MaiTai, Nicole, Zoro) and a few German Shepherd dogs (Kyras, Whiskey, Vector and Rogue). The sweetest Siamese I had/have was the only one with "papers", Zoro. All the German Shepheds were AKC but Kyras was by far the best, hence my screen name.

Generally I liked cats, but hated litter boxes.
Found out I'm mildly allergic so I tend to just keep a little distance.

when I was a teenager I had a cat with double- double claws, 7 claws on each paw.
if you look carefully you can still see the scar on the end of my nose.

as I think about it, I haven't had one since.

^There seemed to be a lot of bad tempered Siamese cats years ago. Abyssinian cats had a reputation for being mean also. I've always wanted one of those. Maybe next kitty. Or maybe I'll rescue one since there are so many out there. Ellen must not have seen this thread yet.

^This is my daughter, Christa, sitting in a box with two kittens. The kittens were in a cupboard that my cat liked them in. Christa pulled out the box and sat in it. She's a zookeeper now, at the Sacramento Zoo.

^This time her cat's in the box and she's outside of it.

^Pepsi.

Christa sought out an orange and white cat for her first cat when she and her boyfriend first lived together in Irvine. That was in 2006, I believe, and they still have him, Pepsi. They now live in a house in Vacaville and another cat started hanging out on their back porch. She was cute and friendly but they didn't want to take it in without making sure it wasn't just lost and they didn't want it to bring disease to Pepsi. Christa did all the right things and now she's their cat, Sierra Mist. Pepsi and Sierra are getting along well. I'm going to go to their house in a week and met the new kitty, and take some photos, naturally. Christa's cat never go outside.

My son has two cats, both rescue black and white cats. One, Light, is a sweet heart and the other, Remy, is a fraidy cat. The only time Kyle's cat go outside is when I babysit them at my house.

^Light, the friendly boy.

^Remy, the fraidy cat.

^Kyle, his sweetheart, Joanna, and Light.

Light is a beautiful cat. But cats are for other people.
Patty I know where your screen name came from, that must have been for somebody else.

FLTs did you photoshop that or is that the Morris cat from commercials?
