Default Census 2020?

I got my notice in today's Colorado mail and went online to answer the questions. If you check the Caucasian race they want more. Where did your ancestors come from? I've got English, Irish, Portuguese and others. I put English.

How about you? Did you get yours in the mail, yet?

Yes, we got it in the mail today. We haven’t gone online to do it yet. Maybe tomorrow.

So, you mean you can only put one ethnicity?

Guess I would put English too as my father and his ancestors were born in England, so I am half English. There is a mixture on my mother’s side. German, Italian, Swiss.

I didn't try to put more than English so I don't know the answer to that question. Good question.

I should look at my Ancestry results. Once you submit to the Census you can't change it but now I'm curious what my results were on Ancestry.

I'm very interested to see the outcome of this census. The last census showed a decrease in what I'll call the domestic population. The total population increased only as a result of immigration.

I did ours. Mine was easy. My wife's wasn't - they didn't list mutt. (JUST KIDDING) but English was the one I selected. Of course, her's could have included several - which if you really know your family tree would be true for most of us........... and I did know her's beyond Ben Franklin.

Did ours yesterday. Actually received two mailings for it. I believe you can only select one country of origin. I am English on father's side, and I think mostly English on mother's. The +1 is definitely Italian on both sides.

FWIIW: I completed the survey a few hours ago. I skipped the part about ethnic origin as I did not know if they would take more than one answer? In my case 50% Polish 25% Irish and 25% German.

I don't wish to send this into the politics forum. But I cannot help but think that not being allowed to ask the question are you a U.S. Citizen is total BS! It is statistical manipulation at it's best. As Mark Twain stated: There are two kinds of lies: Damn lies, and statistics!

I did ours and put in 2 answers for both me and the +1. Probably could have put in more.
