I went out with birds seed and peanuts in my pocket today. Put some on a railing at the nature trail. Got a few poses from a cardinal. One of which would have been much better if I had bumped up the shutter speed. Next time.

Our egrets should be back soon. The gold finch are getting to be a much brighter yellow and I should be spotting some interesting warblers soon.

I have been over run with Red Wing Black Birds this year. I hope when I get home I can attract some Orioles!

You must be near water. I hear and see them in Loveland and they're always near a river or some slow streams. I loved hearing them when I would boat camp at Lake Havasu as a kid.

I live next to an area that this time of year I call “The Swamp”. In the heat of the summer it dries up unless we get a lot of rain.

Red winged blackbirds don't stay year-round there, do they? I think they recently came back to Loveland.

No. They migrate each year I believe.
