I had accessed some of it, but yes, when I sign on at home the Thunderbird email program grabs any email that has not been read on that program.

For whatever reason, Thunderbird re-loaded (not sure that's the correct word) email that had been loaded by Thunderbird on my computer previously.

It's done this before, so I'm not sure if it's a Thunderbird to Verizon issue, or Verizon to Thunderbird issue.

My Mom called me last night to tell me she had AOL troubles. I keep reminding her I don't use AOL, but I have a sister who does and she had some problem earlier this week with email.

Maybe the internet is broken?

Since you work from home, I can imagine how annoying this is. Hope it's back to "normal" soon.

Semi-related to this thread's topic are these explanations for Windows Error Messages.

Jerry, you make me feel like our dear President -- if I'm not for the war then I'm for the terrorists. So in your eyes if I complain that I CANNOT DO THE JOB THE COMPANY IS PAYING ME TO DO BECAUSE COMCAST IS A P.O.S. ISP, then I must not be appreciative to be an American and have a computer.

I don't know if you were tongue in cheek or not, but that is and if you were still working and had the same problems, I venture that you would be ranting and complaining as loudly as I have been. Since your computer is a source of entertainment for you, perhaps it doesn't matter if or when you receive your e-mails. If it were tied to your sole source o income, you'd probably have a bit different attitude. But so that you don't have to listen to it, why don't you put me on your ignore button and I'll do the same for you.
Sorry, you can't make me mad. After all, I'm in the running for VSA-Redux

My point remains the same: The Internet is great for business or entertainment. You couldn't work from home w/o an ISP.....and would be working in an office like most of the crew here

My intention wasn't to make you mad. I have no idea where you came up with that idea. My intention was to point out the difference between people who use the internet for entertainment and those who NEED it to support themselves. For the record, I don't work from home because I choose to. I work from home because that's where my employer wants me to work. And they expect me to be able to reliably have access to e-mail. If you could possibly put yourself in someone's else's position, you might get the gist of why this is a problem for me.

As far as your VSA status, it appears that while you may be ahead, you certainly are not carrying a majority which must be a real disappointment to you.

Is someone "stealing the votes"? I'll have to go look. Kicking out the incumbent? Just like real politics.

At this point in time (I always loved the politicos using that line) Jerry's approval rating is similar to that other incumbent who is also leaving office soon.

^^^ Keep in mind....I haven't voted yet.....nor have "my people"

For your info: While I was working, I had complete access to my office desktop via the LogMeIn service. I could have done 75% of my work from home...using my Comcast connection

OTOH, I would be quite happy to drop the VSA title, which has been over-used for the last year or so I suffer the mantle bravely, however.....

1. WTF are you talking about? On second thought, don't answer that. It would just prolong this b.s.

2. The title of this thread contains the words "help" and "please". I don't need your juvenile to wade through while some people have actually tried to help me with a PROBLEM. Could you go play someplace else and leave this teensy tiny corner of the internet alone so that IF someone comes up with a legitimate fix for Comcast's problems, those of us who have been experiencing the problems will be able to find it. I don't care how funny you think you are. This is a real work related problem for me. Surely you can accept that and move your games elsewhere.

Time to cut you off at the bar, Martha

I think you are the one who has taken this Lots of folks have offered suggestions and good comments.....including me

As I said a while ago, you can't make me mad....as you have done with others before. I don't take this seriously enough for that. In fact, I don't give a rat's ass for what you think
