Excellent article. Enjoyed learning about why car sales people act the way they do.
Thanks for posting.

Neat post Gene ... I had read it some time ago and had forgotten where I had found it. I wanted to show it to a buddy who had soent some time selling cars. Problem solved ... thanks.

As an aside, and this is not really the forum, yesterday marked the anniversary of the official end of Lam Son 719. I believe you had rotated out by then, but I'm not sure. Crappy time. I've been pretty melancholy lately, and I'm sure that's the cause. Keep it in the green, Witch Doctor.

Very interesting article. It took a while to read the whole thing, but it was eye opening in its totality, though not that surprising all in all. It does make you feel a bit badly for the salesmen. It also didn't explain the whole telephone angle, ie. when a customer calls inquiring about a model. I alsways get a kick out of how possessive that salesman is about me when all I've made is a 1 minute inquiry.

Fascinating peice. for sure. Thanks for the post. My dear mother-in-law just got a call the other day from her Saturn dealer "needing good used cars" which the article mentions as something they do when new care sales are slow. I had already warned her about the trick. She was thinking about it, I am glad she refrained. Saturns kinda suck anyway.
