Default The Couch Project

We have a rattan and wicker set in our great room we were looking to replace but we can't find anything we like better. We decided to order new cushions and frame covers. My wife decided (not me) that we'd put the frame covers on ourselves. This morning I have the couch disassembled into 5 pieces. Never taken a couch down to it's components before but it required a lot of fun tools. The vibrosaw was my saving grace. I'm now debating whether to use my electric staple gun or my air nailer.

Fun project. Thought I'd share.

Both have their own virtues… The electric stapler with its greater contact surface will hold the fabric better. That is, if it can penetrate the wood so that the staple becomes fully seated. A pneumatic nail gun can be adjusted so it will penetrate most all materials, but has a small area of contact.

IMO I would use the electric stapler if it can fully seat the staple.
