Default Coyote caught by an S

A friend of mine saw this car stopped at a truck stop in southwest Texas and went back to his truck to get his camera because he could not believe what he was seeing and had to have proof to show me. He gave me the picture so I could scan it to show you all. He has no idea who the owner is but he said the inside of the engine bay was pretty torn up. When I saw the picture I thought it was a dog asleep in the grill area, but looking closer you can see the paw was missing and the license plate is bent with lots of radiator fluid on the ground.
To me this is one of those pictures that makes you say "Holy Cow!"

Yeah it is, but at least it's unidentifiable. Don't you feel sorry for the coyote? And the S? Especially the S!

It kind of looks like lobster meat As for feeling bad for the coyote I don't because I've seen how viscious they are but I DO feel bad for the S and also the driver!

When I first saw it, I thought it was fake, like red cloth hanging down. I had to get down and look close to see if it was real. I think coyotes are cute, even if they do eat cats and kittens in my neighborhood.

That is awful...I feel badly for the car and the coyote. I guess he crawled up in there to get warm?

I"ll bet he got caught up in there at about 60 mph msperky

If you've ever ranched and seen what a pack of coyotes can do to a newborn calf...slowly....you'll lose your coyote sympathy in a big hurry.

I feel bad for them - they're doing what comes naturally, but I hear shooting at night on the ranch behind us and hope that they don't decide our neighborhood is safer and start picking off our pets - otherwise, I'll be out there shooting too. Something bit holes in one of my cats one night and when I was talking to the vet (cat's doing fine) I asked whether he thought it might have been a coyote (ok, I've lived here for 7 months and am a bit naive about coyote behavior). He was amused. He said all that would have been left of Powder would have been fluff.
