I was in the back seat of dad's car at a drive-in movie in 1958 just feeling my way around.

 

I was probably doing the "duck and cover" drill in 6th grade on this date in 1958. Damn Nikita Khrushchev!

Just last night, I was looking through some old photos my dad took in Germany during WWII. Even though he didn't talk about his war-time experiences much, I think the 22 months he served in the U.S. Army made an indelible impression on his life too.

Thanks for your military service, and I think it's great that it had a positive influence on your life. BTW, I really like your house (photos in another thread).
