Default Dean ... :(

I am saddened to say that Dean passed away this morning around 10:30am. He was moved from his home to a Hospice house just yesterday.

Rori sends her best to this community and we thank you all so much for making 'the weekend' so special. It really did make a noticeable difference in Deans mood.

As I get details of the service I will update it here.

UPDATE:
Rori says the service will be at their home on May, 9th. I'm not sure of the time yet.

Their address is:
620 Nuevo Leon Lane
The Villages, Fl
32159

Rori says she's ok right now and is spending time with her mother. The irony is that I had plans to visit them at the Hospice house this evening.

Let "Weekend at Dean's" be a defining memory for us. Even in his compromised state we all were witness to the everlasting charm of Dean https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/110...kend-at-deans/

I am so sorry to hear this.

Although I never met Dean in person, I did correspond with him over the course of a few months regarding genealogy.

We express our sympathy to Rori, too.

Would you please PM me the address, too?

Thanks,

Sue and Dennis (goblueS2K)

It's a very sad day! We will miss Dean. He was a great friend and colleague. What a Mainer! That kind of lightning fast wit and humor are rare and wonderful. Heartfelt condolences to Rori and Dean's family and friends. I am so happy to have enjoyed being at the Vintage Dean Bash in the Villages in January! It was a happy time and will forever be an enduring memory.
Bon Voyage!

Thanks so much for posting this thread and keeping us informed.

This is indeed very sad news. His wit and humor will be missed even by those of us who never met him. Even as his time grew shorter, his attitude stayed strong and he lived more as he died than many live while alive and healthy.

I am so, so sad to hear this, but so happy that we were able to bring him (and us) some laughter not too long ago at Weekend at Dean's. I guess I knew his time was short, but I'm still surprised. He was one of a kind and I will miss him. Please express my condolences to Rori and family. Thanks for posting.

One of our brightest lights has gone out. And our world is a little darker for it.

That weekend will be a treasured memory for those of us who were fortunate enough to make it down to Dean's. I'm retiring the shirt but will never part with it.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of this very unique guy.

While we had our differences along the way, I'm glad that I was able to reach out to him very many years ago and get him more involved in the S2000 community. My best memories are from the first Florida gathering and also from his aquarium tour during the Noreaster in 2005 or so. Pax Vobiscum.
