Figures I read and post in here today... then head to Steak & Shake for lunch....

Ordered the Jalapeno Crunch Chicken sandwich... actually pointed to it on the menu..... (due to previous experience!)

And what do I get..... the Jalapeno Crunch Steakburger!

I mean, come on people.... listen (or look at what we point to) to what we order!

This is probably the 3rd time in the last 3 months that I have ordered this sandwich.... twice they have brought me the steakburger version!

And yes... it gets sent back!

Remind me not to go to a restaurant with you!

OSI which owns Outback, Carraba's, Bonefish...is IMHO a not terribly interested in service (having a friend that was a GM with them.)
You are lucky. Because of this areas long term economic downturn we have fewer and fewer of 'good' locals.

I suggest that you e-mail corporate headquarters. They may not do anything for you but they need to know!

If someone would like to do that, you certainly have my permission to link them to this thread. The thought to do that crossed my mind for a nanosecond. But the last thing I want is lip service and a coupon for that place.

If they really care, maybe their CEO should go undercover based on the general feelings expressed here to their operations.

That's a shame.

Having cooked for a living for twenty two years I am in complete agreement with you. We had the same experience with our local Outback ( gave it three years between visits). Second visit was worse. We absolutely avoid all corporate restaurants like the plague. The only exception being when we are traveling and don't know the area when we arrive late. Corporate operations have to maintain consistency because of a national presence and advertising. Because of this nearly every item on the menu is portioned , frozen and delivered from their distribution centers. There is an executive chef-but the rest of the kitchen staff are basically pimply faced kids dropping frozen portions. Always patronize your locally owned operations for a personal experience and better service.I don't mind paying a bit more for imaginatively created food by a talented chef/owner. Nine times out of ten the experience will be delightful.

We still have quite a few locally owned restaurants. Went to one tonight that we've been going to for over 30 years! It's only had three owners in all that time. A few of you S2000 folks have been there with us. Not fancy, but good food reasonably priced and your beverage is placed in front of you right after you sit. We're regulars.

Was that the Italian place we went to after the 2008 Nor'easter? If so, I agree!
