No we haven't. We are trying to get to MOONLIGHT next. The Shack is on my list.

It is all my fault. I love to see movies in the theatre!

Good for you; someone has to keep going. Its the one place I can't stand to watch a movie. I really doubt I've been to one 10 times in the past 20 years.

I like to see them in the theater and then see them again at home if they're worth it. Moonlight is one I'll put on my Netflix DVD list.

I wonder how much difference there is between your movie experience and one here in California. I very rarely have a bad experience. The local theater has 22 screens and they're all stadium seating. I buy tickets at Costco that end up being $10 each for any movie any time. I never buy drinks or snacks at the theater. I HATE the 20 minutes of previews and advertising before the movie but do enjoy it once the movie comes on, even though half the time I've forgotten what I came to see.

Just a few things that come to mind....
- prices too high
- sticky floors
- dirty seats
- people around you talking, sneezing, coughing
- people in front of you too tall
- no pause button
- pop & popcorn prices too high
- sitting through ads & previews
- the drive there
- finding a parking space
- having to be there early to get a seat that's where you want it
- standing in line if it is popular; which would be the only reason I want to see it

and no Jim Beam

The theater close to us has just remodeled with half the seats. The new seats are all wide recliners and all of the seats are reserved. You pick out your seat either on line or when buying your ticket. They have not raised their prices yet but with the senior discount and the same for refreshments I don't mind going.

Those are a few of the reasons I don't watch movies at home.

We've got a theater 10 minutes from the house that shows first run movies for $5.25 on Tuesday nights. We go about once a month, but never buy the popcorn. They just added the recliner seats, so I expect the price will be climbing. We liked it before the recliners. Could show up as the movie was starting and still get a great seat. With the reserved recliners, there are fewer seats and the good ones go early. Also makes it difficult to make last minute plans with our nieces, because you need to buy the seats a day ahead now.

You can add recliners to my list for reasons not go as arthritis forces me avoid recliners

Saw The Shack last night. My niece read the book, and discussed it with my wife, shortly before she passed away. The movie is a real tearjerker and had an impact on my wife who has had a hard time with my niece's death. I think she feels a little closer to her now and I think the movie helped with her healing process. I'm not a believer in God, but still enjoyed the movie.
