Baseball-Ken Burns-A few weeks ago I made the comment that there is no such thing as a bad Ken Burns documentary. After watching "Baseball" I feel that more strongly than ever. I loved this show. It's the first video that I can ever remember rushing home from work to watch, and sometimes watching 4 hours a night. I loved his "Civil War" and I think "Baseball" is at least it's equal. I think it helps to like the game and to know something of its history, but it's so good that I think even if you're new to the game you'll enjoy this. As a kid growing up I played baseball in the streets of Brooklyn whenever my friends and I had the time. I became a student of the game and had to know all about its past. That's what baseball is all about. Over the years other things became more important and I became a part time, casual fan (I was a Brooklyn Dodger fan until those bastards moved away and then I became a devoted Met fan). Watching this documentary brought it all back home again. Now I can't wait for the World Series to begin. No matter who plays, I'll be glued to the TV.
If you've never seen Ken Burn's Baseball watch it. Go to the library and borrow all 11 "innings" of it. Good thing you don't live in Morris County, NJ, I might not ever bring this back to the library.

I watched and loved LOVING as well. As to Ken Burns' Civil War, I purchased several sets and gave them as gifts. We absolutely loved it. I agree with Ralper, there is no such thing as a bad Ken Burns documentary. I'd be very interested in watching Medicine of the Wolf . Sounds like my kind of movie.

Look at you, Val. Posting on s2ki. Great to see you!!! Say "hi" to Jim. If he doesn't remember me (we've only met a couple of times), just tell him its the loony long haired guy with the beads from Dean's weekend.

Yes, here I am Mike. I have to say it is due in large part to that fabulous card we got from you. As to Jim, he found you quite memorable and totally unforgettable. Thank you for thinking of us. Means the world and helps so much in overcoming the unbelievable grief.
Watched Medicine of the Wolf last evening and loved it.

We probably could have filmed that weekend and made a lot of money! The Mike, Zippy, LB Comedy Show!

Don't forget LB, Ray, and (OMG) Granny...and others I am forgetting (sorry...memories of the weekend are a bit "foggy".). Meanwhile, Jim watched in wise amusement like he knew something the rest of us didn't, chiming in now and then with something that made way too much sense. You and Val were in form, too. It was a rollicking good time and a fitting celebration. My sides hurt for days.

Anyone seen "Logan Lucky" yet? It has gotten some nice reviews. I know NASCAR provides some of the backdrop but still... Daniel Craig is supposedly very funny.

We saw it yesterday. Craig was funny but not worth the price. The movie was entertaining but not awesome. Wait for the DVD.
