Dishwashers?

Maybe you should wait on the refrigerator purchase until they come out with the stainless, dent proof models. Titanium perhaps.
These guys could put a dent in a diamond, I think.I'm looking at the counter-depth refrigerators. Judging from the prices of them, the manufacturers are real proud of them.
Any particular brands that I should be looking at?

I will mention that with the downed limb, a saw, and some time on a lathe you could devise an instrument to convince the next delivery driver to be a bit more careful backing in to your driveway.

Why go through all that trouble? I have a 20" chainsaw and I'm sure that I could pick up a hockey mask for cheap.
Dean: I checked out all the different counter-depth fridges a couple of years ago. Each maker seems to have only one. I boiled it down to 25 cuft Jenn-air, Kitchen Aid and Whirlpool. I found the best price on the Whirlpool Gold we chose by shopping around and had Sears match that price (saved about 600 dollars). It is an exceptionally nice and totally quiet side by side SS unit. Please note that the counter-depths are wider and taller than the others and you must plan for them to fit snug-to-the-space to look right.

... I need to discuss it with my CFO when she gets home. If I make a decision on my own, it's a given that it'll be the wrong one.

Right on Dean. Sears can offer you 3-4 different makes for counter-depth. Once you have decided, do, however, find a cheaper price elsewhere because you will find them cheaper - then go for the price match. Also, ask Sears when their next sales dates on those items are (that will make the sales person dig deeper) and when they have 10% early morning sales. The goal is a price match, a sales day, and a 10% earlybird. Pretend you are buying a car!!

Noise abatement. If you're going to resort to something as subtle as a chain saw
(pun intended), you may as well just show him your alarm system.

I had to think about this one for a while.

No noise abatement issues here. I was using the chainsaw last week to thin out some of the trees in my backyard last week. And I often hear the neighbors using them, although I don't think they're using them on delivery people.
