Default Do it yourself TSB

At our Spring Fling Seminars Joel (Nate03) and Bobby (Bobbyb) spoke about a TSB concerning the map sensor and it's connection. It seems the connection can loosen over time and on hard acceleration can cause a hesitation. Honda has come out with an $80 dollar fix, but it can be fixed with a 10 cent zip tie. Joel and Bobby did this to my car before we left for the Spring Fling.

Here is a link to the thread about this. There is a photo of the Honda part. You can use a zip tie in the same way to remedy this problem.

Eliot,

You are absolutely right. Thank you for pointing this out.

Eliot does do a good job of providing further explanation here.... but for what it's worth...

when this TSB came out in early December I added the Zip Tie around the plug & Map Sensor without any Crazy Glue reinforcement or rubber hose to pass the tie through... the zip tie I installed has stayed put since that time...I took some care in creasing it at the rearward corners and making it as tight as possible ...

but my case is rare, as you guys can attest, I never exceed 75mph and on even fewer occasions get my car cooking in VTEC cam profile...

Eliot,

Based on my experience with your group last year headed down to the WTD 04 run, I would suspect that you would have had some unhappy campers at SF05 in your drive group. Then again, you would have been a bit lonely showing up at the Inn over an hour before the rest of your drive group caught up with you.
