i used to work for Lojack (in the billing dept)
and $1,000.00 is way too much - even with that 495 price tag - the dealer / salesmen get a commission check for every one they sell
it is a great tracking device BUT let's assume you're sleeping - i steal your car but you don't notice until morning - that means i have all night to tear it apart.. this acutally happened to an employee while i worked for them - gone at night - he called and they found it less the rims, glass, and keyed..
they do now offer an early warning system to call you if you car is moved
i would say spend 500 on a great alarm with all the proxy sensors and / remote starter
