I'm with paS2K, didn't take long. But, it is a bigger car than the X1/9s I had been driving. Got the performance driving down pretty quick too. Trophied at the SCCA Solo North East Divisionals within the first year of ownership.

It didn't take me very long to "learn" to drive it. I'd had a few sportscars before, and driving it seemed very natural.

Its taking me a very long time to get over babying it. I still won't take it out in the rain. I still park it in the furthest spot in any parking lot. I still won't take it to a valet lot. I never park it on the street, and I never rev to 9,000. I still change the oil every 1,000 miles. I doubt any of that will ever change.

No wonder people keep talking about whether the worldwise supply of oil is running out!

Has nothing to do with it. I use synthetic oil.

I probably rev and shift more than some drivers. I like the car because it engages me like motorcycles do.

Is this true for anybody else?....

When I first got the car I didn't like to scream it, even after break-in. It seemed to be yelling for attention.

Now, I'm over it. I love to rev it hard, especially if I'm not in a good mood.

It really does make a great attitude adjustment on those days when everything else just seems to have been a pain in the butt.

Riding Motorcycles for 27 years and I continue to do so has taught me how to drive defensively while driving the S.
