Driving in the cold.
Thought of this thread tonight. We drove to Grand Rapids, MI for an event called Art Prize. It's loads of fun. It's not an Art Fair. No, this is Art that is displayed in a couple hundred bars, restaurants, museums, etc. through out the area. You can stroll down the street, see the markers out front go in look and leave, or go in look, have a brew and leave. There is voting. There is BIG money given to the winners, so really good Art shows up. And on some streets there is lots of Art (brews)!
So anyways after a full day of drink and food, we head home. Top down. 54*. Which isn't bad if you are standing around but at an average speed of 60 mph, top down of course, it is really nice but kinda cold. You don't want to go faster... not with the deer that hang out on the roads I take. Two hours, dead of night, cool as heck, and my lovely bride says.......... drum roll. Thank you as she pets the 55 year old MG that got us home again without a single issue.

Our S2000 group in the Houston area do a Polar Bear Topdown drive in January _ brrrr, sometimes it is in the 30s but usually not quite so cold. Right now is ideal topdown weather, though. +1 Chris loves to drive topless in the evenings. She loves the S!.
Where are you moving to next?
Our usual cut off for top down is 50 degrees. We have been in the S heading home at times when the temps are less than 50 and the top has been down. It's not a frequent occurrence.
We don't do the winter drives as our poor S has to live outside under cover. Can't put the cover on if the car is dirty, and during the winter, the roads around here are often full of salt, sand, etc. The car would need to be washed again when we returned home. She sits, generally speaking from mid November to mid-April.
Even if we had a garage, I don't see us tooling around top down. We manage to put plenty of miles on the S in the nice weather. Not a whole lot of interest in heading out when the roads are messy and big potholes are just waiting to eat one of our tires/rims.
