It's the thought that counts, Jerry.

In the interim she pulled out her original engagement ring and wants the setting restored and resized.
She also explained that the ring picture she had sent a while back she really liked the rectangular emerald cut, sapphire shape.
blink, blink, the retailer cancelled the order.
I explained the situation to my beloved because I was so frustrated. I showed her what I had picked out.
She looked at the top ring and was like "thank god somebody was looking out for me."

my balloon has been deflated, so much for showering her with diamonds and gold.
Jewelry is too expensive to screw up. The thought counts but if your gift is not enjoyed it's frustrating for both of you.

Much easier to walk into a jewelry store and say 'Do you see anything you like?"

Rick used to buy me jewelry, before we had a mortgage. Actually he did buy me one pair of ruby/diamond earrings after we bought the house and I almost brought them back....but I didn't. I did like just about everything he selected. One ruby ring, I had it switched up a bit years down the road, added more diamonds around it. Small diamonds but really made the ring pop. It's a favorite.

I picked out my diamond wedding band. He told me to select what I liked. We were saving for the down payment on the house, and I just could not justify spending big bucks. I've thought of updating it on a few milestone anniversaries, but just haven't. Sentimental, I guess. Somehow we found other stuff to spend $$$$ on......
