So far, we will be sunny this weekend with low 80s. Already riptides along the coast, however. Quite a few rescues yesterday.

Rob, this is the best source I have found for all weather information, including tropical weather: Weather Underground

Looks like its expected to graze NC and head north. Info from the National Hurricane Center:

NOAH/NHC

My daughter's in Newport News, VA and is watching updates. They could get some nastiness.

Thanks Gene & Val. It looks like it's going to clobber the east coast. I think it'll skim my area. I'll probably get a lot of rain.

I think that anyone along the coast is in for some nastiness.

If it stays on that offshore track the whole east coast could get pounded.

This will hit Cape Cod. The rest of you can go back to the "What are you doing this weekend" thread.

Seriously, I will be pulling my boat out of the water and trying to protect the Cape house as best I can.

The good news is that as long as you are west of the hurricane eye you will not experience the strongest winds. For example, if a cat 3 hurricane eye wall passes 40 miles to the east of you, you will probably only see heavy tropical storm force winds, depending on the size of the system.

Good luck to everyone along the eastern seaboard. Stay safe and don't forget to get those s2000's under cover.
