After a three day absence birds have returned to my feeder. I believe my local hawks have moved on to other locations. Shown are my house finches in that have arrived in mass numbers.
Nice, Gary. I've had VERY little activity at my feeders the last week or so. The feed is lasting longer. I dumped what was left in the park across the street. I figure a squirrel or another critter can feast on it. Loaded up fresh seed in the feeders and hoping for visitors.
Until then, I found a cooperative robin on a bike path today. Lots of robins out there.
The birds are emptying my feeders about every three days. The Jays and Titmouse (what the heck is plural for titmouse, titmice?) are emptying the peanut feeder every day!
The poor birds are freezing in this weather so I keep them well fed.
My feeders had a lot of action this morning; blue jays, scrub jays, little red bellied birdies (finches?), magpies and two doves. The wind is dang strong tonight! The peanut feeder blew down, the birdbath blew off the table and I wedged it underneath the rail to keep from heading north to Fort Collins, and the regular seed feeder is swinging in the breeze. Snow might come in the early morning hours after a decent day in the 50s. The birds know!

Gary, the robins are generally here year round, but the numbers seem to increase as winter wanes. I hope the many I saw yesterday was a sing of winter waning.

You should have listened to the Vintage experts I know I and someone else said to get a cement birdbath . . . not one of those fancy to look at ones.
