Feeding the Birds
I love that all the birds are beginning to put on their best clothing. Subtle changes of color. The American gold finches have well defined wing feathers with soft green breast feathers that will become the beautiful yellow of summer.
Lost a dove to a nasty freaking cat yesterday. Had a mess of feathers to clean up. I have no patience for those who allow their cats to free roam, poop in the mulch in my yard and kill the birds. I really think folks should be more responsible, but alas they are not. My bird numbers are way down right now. I guess migration will soon begin and the numbers will climb. Frankly I'm glad I don't have a lot of birds at the feeders since this creepy cat is stalking. I may have to take the feeders down for a bit until it leaves.

).I was allowed to kill the skunks, raccoons and possums tho....All it takes is one person in a neighborhood to feed them, and they will not move on.
One of our neighbors has a lot backing up to a lake, and he took this picture today from his deck. He says he sees several of these every day, as they go fishing. I'm sure their nest is nearby, but we don't know where it is.
That's cool. We see them up north in MI but not around here.
Beautiful pic. Several times a day I see one flying over my house heading toward the State Park/marsh area. I figure they're nesting over there and come this way to do a little fishing in the marsh nearby. Beautiful sight and this is a beautiful pic. Can't help but notice all the birds and squirrels go into hiding when they fly over.
