You must have some nice woods around your backyard!

We always enjoy when we see a pileated woodpecker.....

Very cool!!

I have the usual birds at the feeder, nothing special. I cut back on the food a bit to cut down on the visits to by the house sparrows. They are so darn pushy.....

I've only seen one of these, it was in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada and I was really surprised at how big he was. Cartoons do not give one a correct impression of the size. Likewise chipmunks were much smaller than I expected.

This is my first sighting. He must have stood 2' tall!

Yeah, those things are big. I had a couple in the woods behind my lake house some years ago. They are really cool to see.

A bump for the birds. Here's a pic of a cormorant I took at the Cape Cod Canal last night. I didn't realize what cool feet these guys have. I liked his "pose."

Usual action at my feeders, nothing special to report.

I also saw a heron last night at the canal. Love those graceful creatures. Grabbed a couple lousy shots........

When I was in AZ recently we saw a roadrunner zip across the field.

I wish I could have got a picture of it but was moving pretty fast as it was being chased by a coyote carrying an anvil with the word ACME on the side.

It was neat to watch it run so quick.

Frequently, I used to see road runners on my property in Tucson. You’re right…they’re fast. They would snatch baby quail, newborn jack rabbits, and assorted lizards with regularity.

I always picture roadrunners to be much larger than they are. I guess I watched too many cartoons in my youth.
