Wonder if he was having trouble breathing when he got to the top?

Did the height bother you. It did me; especially when I was hiking. OH is about as high up as MI.

I could barely catch my breath. I was light headed and couldn't get down the hill fast enough!

Same here, but I did enjoy the drive up and back very much. It's amazing how much more power the car has at the lower elevations! Here is proof I was there:

I made it to the top, too, even if my poor Suzuka baby didn't. I was okay up there but I had been walking around for a while at 12,900 ft. earlier.

^Short of the top by 1,507 ft. when the clutch went to the floor and stayed there. It came back up and was fine for the rest of the drive to Golden. I did get new clutch fluid put in early the next morning at the close-by Honda dealership.

^I got a ride the rest of the way with one of the Colorado guys. Thank you to Gene, for taking the photo.

Back on the oil consumption topic, the first year of the S (2000) I remember lots of discussions on S2000FANS.com about the way our cars would go though oil. The first 5,000 miles, owners were checking their oil at every gas fill up. I know I added half a quart or so at a time, very often, those first few thousand miles.
Maybe they had the problem worked out by the next year's model?

I've got a 2000... and have never had any oil consumption problems....

Even now with 118k miles..... unless I spend a LOT of time in vtec (Dragon runs)..... I use almost zero oil!
