Was down at the Hyundai dealer yesterday.... and saw the tech who had purchased my old RSX-S (I had traded it in).

Asked how the car was doing, and he said "not good"!

I asked what was wrong, and he said something was knocking in the bottom of the motor. Said the dealership has agreed to pick up half the cost of a used motor.

Guess I got rid of the car just in time!

Feel sorry for the guy tho...... hopefully it won't change his mind on how nice the car is!

I am not sure if this is a new episode, but saw this one a couple nights back, great review of the car, the only thing that put them off a little is the price, but seemed well in line with it's "real" competition.

I was over in my benz forums and stumbled on this story.
He had an E350 motor go south, bad wrist pins.
The timing was almost coincidental with love2drive's saga.

The outcome was apparently different however, they took the position that rebuilding the motor was "OK"
Frankly I was rather surprised by this.
I found it interesting that the original poster sort of disappeared near the conclusion
and maybe had a gag put on him as condition of a swap.
