By all means contact Comcast. That way you will experience what it is like to get to talk to a live person in less than 25 minutes.
I'll let you know what I find.

Perk, what would I ever do without you?

I'm wondering when all this technology will simply get wayyyyy too much for me to handle. I'm now lucky if I can remember how to work all the features that I need on my cellphone, computer, etc. I started with a palmpilot which I could sync with my computer and that has become TOTALLY obsolete. Now I'm wondering if I should just get a little Aser mini-computer to haul around my addy book and appointment calendar. Its just too much. I sometimes think about going back to the days (God forbid) of just keeping a little paper calendar and pencil. Sometimes I think either I've become wayyyy too slow or life is just wayyyy too fast.

I really do understand. Nancy just got a new Acura TL, and even the techno-geek is lost in it too many times. I need a book, to interpret the book, that explains how to get the explanations of what the car can do, but on the really cool side, the keyless locking and ignition is way cool.

An aside, I had the opportunity to use the Asus EEE (netbook, the Acer is VERY similar) recently and it was very cool, very small, and probably a good alternative for people that travel and use their computer for email, net surfing, and contact info.

I still use that system to keep track of my appointments.

Techno is cool if it is something that you are using on a frequent basis and therefore become familiar with it.
The problem is if you are an occasional user, your lost.

The devices that I find the most frustrating are some of the simpler units.
push button 1 then button 2 then button 1 twice....
if you don't have the manual you will never stumble upon it.
My bike computer has this problem. I have to relearn it every spring.

You also become attuned to cars functions as well.
Ideally you don't want to have think about how it works.
I'm fortunate enough to have 4 cars but when I go from one to the other, simple things like where are the window controls require thought.

that and "shifting" the automatic after being in the toy for a while.

Another problem I have is that the keys on cellphones are soooo small that if I'm putting in a number for the first time or calling a number the old fashioned way (instead of just finding it in my menu), I often take five minutes to get it in because I have to back up so many times.
I looked at one of those Acer's the other day and tried out the keyboard -- it was great and almost as nice as my keyboard on my regular laptop. Rather than pay $300+ to replace my palm I'd go with one of those. I just hate like heck having to rekey my address book and I cannot seem to get the palmpilot to export to outlook.
