I never met Grant in person. His on line persona always seemed like a character from a Carl Hiaasen novel, come to life. Never boring.
This may be totally inappropriate but I had a brief thought that fltsfshr planned to attend his own funeral, just to see who would show up. Wish it was so.

I didn't know that Grant had passed away. I was scrolling though the movie thread when I saw his "Honorary Member" avatar.
He was a cantankerous, crabby guy, at the other end of the political spectrum than me and we always locked horns, but we really, behind all of that, liked and respected each other. He was the first participant in the first "25 Clams" thread. I don't remember who won that one, but we both ended up contributing to the other's charity. He was a real standup kind of guy.
I'm sure this entire forum will miss him. I know that I will.
