Front license plate requirement
#11
None of our cars have had a front plate for almost 5 years now. No problems yet. A friend (retired cop) told me he couldn't see a cop pulling you over for it unless he/she wanted some excuse to pull you over, like if you're in the 'wrong' neighborhood at the wrong time.
Of course, that doesn't mean there wouldn't be an extra fine if you were first pulled over for something else.

P.S. Do you mean like for not having any windshield wipers on your vehicle?

As an Upstate New Yorker who should have both plates, I say no way, not on the S...
Oh, and before I had the S, I never ran one on the front of my CRX-SiR, but now I do, I figure it helps the averages.

I have never seen any folks with the front plate INSIDE the 'grille' opening. I've seen some who attached it to a mesh aftermkt grille....just using plastic ties, etc. The aesthetic effect is much less
I don't think the 10-15% reduction in air flow has any real effect, but would be interested to hear comment from one of our motorheads....Doug or Davr or.....YOU
Has anyone here tried that approach?
Luckily, Peeay falls in Dennis' safe zone....

Jerry-
I've had mine in the grill opening for a while. I had it off for a while, but got stopped about 3 times in/around Princeton in a short period. Even got a fix-it ticket one time.
I've got an AP1 as you know, and have only seen 4 bars on the temp gauge after repeated Dragon runs. At the track, I've never seen 4 bars - so my conclusion is that it's not affecting airflow in any way.
The first S. New car, new plate, same location.

I ran without a front plate for 5 years, and then got a $74 ticket from an Ohio Trooper. He seemed to enjoy giving me that ticket a lot. You'd think they had better things to do over a 4th of July weekend.I went to court to plead my case, being that I've never had a citation in Ohio in well over 40 years. That backfired and I ended up paying $94. I now remove it as soon as I leave the state. If i got caught again, there is no doubt I would get another ticket.

Having the plate in the back is just one more reason why Quebec is better than Ontario.
Zeiss (with two plates, just across the river from Quebec in Ontario)
