Future Classics. Do you agree?
I don't know about the term classic, but the design of the S2000 is timeless and will look great a long time down the road. The other vehicles on the list are unique and you won't find them ever again as people move towards ugly bland vehicles.

Cayman is on there, but I too believe the Boxster should be there instead. 911 probably isn't as it's pretty much classed as one anyway and as time passes the "old" ones become the new classics.
I don't think the Solstice will be "collectable" in the future. I think it will be more like the Chevy Vega, that is a curiosity that when someone who owns one and brings it to a Cruise Night people will look and ask what it is.
Always hard to predict this. And we may be seeing the last generations that care about classic cars unfortunately. I fear that more and more people do not even start driving well into their 20's (This is so alien to me... I was getting my license and starting my first job literally the day after my 16th bday!). and it seems less and less care about cars anymore. Sad and I hope that does change. So many of the cars out there today lack any soul or uniqueness other than high priced cars. If you think about it, many of the classics of old and of even recent years actually were not the high end cars in their day. A 55-57 chevy was a cool car, but it was a car that lots of people could afford back then. The hondas that people cherish so much today, were not P car level pricing when they came out. But if you look at the average cars coming out today, fewer and fewer are anything anyone will remember or care about. Hell, 80% of them look identical.
I agree with lots on the list there. I do not think the Solstice will be. I mean there will be some niche crowd that likes them I suppose.
Some of these are fairly high priced originally and will be less of a "I am grown up and can afford a nice one now" kinda things if the prices go up even higher, so will be "classics" that rich people will own maybe.
Funny they mention the M Coupe but show the soft top roadster
I do kinda wonder about retro remakes of cars then becoming classics, but maybe (challenger for example). There are lots that love them now because they liked the originals, so hard to say if the new retro remakes will be as much of a classic. To me it is a lot like a cover song becoming a classic
But they are cool and I presume people will want them in the future.
Cherokee Trackhawk .... maybe but I think it will be a small crowd honestly.
On the other hand though, with the blandness and boringness that is overtaking car design these days, with all the nannies, fun robbing stuff, etc. it could be that tons of the cars we love today will become classics! Or maybe we will see a swing the other way and more cars will be unique and fun again. I hope that is the case.
