FYI...Owners broken down by car color

Gerry, you are correct IMO with the position that Red has been the most traditional color in sports cars. Most of the Italian and British cars of the 50s & 60s were red, and many that were not, have since been painted red. As a percentage of owners reporteding on this site, Red was one of the colors that dropped since the last time I did the percentage breakdown (Jun 2002 with approx 2,500 entries). Also, if one were to combine the two silver colors it would total 42%.

When I think of silver sports cars, I think of the Mercedes 300SL and other later Mercedes 'products.'
Unfortunately, that's all I think of.
That's not altogether true either; I think of Pensacola Honda who has received about six 2004 S2000's - all silver!

Don't overlook the Silver Arrows which screamed down the tracks of Germany long before the 300SL. As I'm sure you know, silver was the international racing color for Germany back in the days when each country had it's own color.
