Filthy Beast - you too can escape from Southern Mississippi. I did!
Escape....no i dont think so. You know as well as i do that we have a secret. Although it seems that more people are finding out what it is.

Really? Well, Alabama seems like an in-bred place. The kind where you go to the family picnic to find a wife.

This must relate, but this is something I"ve noticed. Where I live, I never hear the N word. Never.
But when I go back North into Minnesota for example, I hear it a lot. I don't care for it and when I've commented about it to some of my Minnesota friends, they don't seem to notice they use it. It drives me crazy.
Age discrimination is another one. In Florida we party with people of all ages, no one seems to care. When I go elsewhere I find there's a lot more age stratification amongst friends who live there.
I like Florida. People can be whatever they want to be. Diversity makes for more good places to eat.
Do you think it's is because we all come from somewhere else we're more tolerant in our regional culture?

That was West Virginia, Patty.
As some one who was born and raised in New York, I must say Alabama is a great place to live. Have lived in other northern states, none of them compare to the warmth and openness that I have experienced here. Yes geographical bigotry lives.

I hope I didn't offend you, demade. I'm sorry if I did.
Geographical bigotry does live. I know there are stereo-types for Californians too, but I'm not sure what they are. Can you enlighten me?
