Getting the lawn mowed. yup lazy

You forgot gas, oil, belts, blades, battery, and the effort to maintain the mower...removing, sharpening, and reinstalling blades regularly. And if you have a nice 48" Deer, you have to get a bagger, trailer, tiller, etc. etc. Plus you also need a push mower for trim work, and a weed eater, string, edger, and blower before you fire the lawn guy.

^ omg, 1/3 rd acre....... even in real time it could not take 30 minutes.

Bagger? Leaving the clippings on the lawn is good for the lawn. Just gotta cut it before it gets to long. I don't see baggers behind the mowers on the nice golf courses here (but maybe I'm not paying close attention?).

Chuck, you gotta have the bagger even if you don't use it regularly. Because...well...just got to if you have a riding mower. Like a dump wagon. You might only use it a couple of times but you know if you have a riding mower you will get one. And it does make short work of cleaning up the leaves in the fall.
Also, down here where about all you see is St. Augustine, you have to bag every second or third mowing or thatch becomes a real problem.

Just finished mowing mine, took me 1 hour.
All bagged, otherwise,I would have had to rake, and pick it up by hand...filled up one big composting garbage can to the brim.

I do agree on mulching but it only works if you don't get behind in cutting.
once it's ankle deep, you're screwed. get out the bagger.
or you let it go for a few more weeks and hay and bail it.

We have about an acre of grass to mow also. We pay $50 a week and think we're being robbed. Our mowers don't do a great job, our lawn doesn't look like centerfield Yankee Stadium when they're finished, but its green and reasonably neat, and I don't have to invest 3 to 4 hours every weekend so I'm happy.
We have a tractor and a mower but we don't have a lot of time so we don't do it ourselves like we used to. We do the fall cleanup ourselves and that by itself is a pain.
