Good luck Bill and I hope you enjoy retirement. Fishing will fill in those boring times. I retired 12 years ago and after 3 months of total boredom I opened my detailing business. Keeps me in shape, and the proceeds fund our trips to Naples and lots of Happy Hours.

I was in the same sort of boat. Got rid of all of my litigation but for one last case in the Second Circuit that I wanted to argue. But it got delayed for close to a year to allow another case with similar issues to catch up. And I hung on. Closed my office and still have one foot out the door as "of counsel" in another firm for four years now. Was trying to pawn off my practice to them, but no success. Old clients keep calling. I guess when they retire, I'll retire. But I can't say that I've ever enjoyed the work - no, not once.

Is that like "interesting" as in the Chinese curse, "May you lead an interesting life"?

Well, nothing horrible happened, but it took a very unusual turn that seems to have worked out well for my client. We need to submit briefs so it isn't over yet. But it's great to be back home.
