Got a computer question - Ask a geek

exactly why an iPad is the answer ...!!! Slide it under the seat...takes very little space...& does most anything you can do with a bulky PC...

Leave the hair dryer, deodorants, shampoo, curling irons, shoes, etc at home... bring the PC!
We'll have all kinds of "images" showing up at random times on it!

I pack so much stuff in the S for our weekends, Rick barely gets room for clean underwear. I don't think we can manage to bring the PC too.
Let me PM you geeks our address. It will be so much easier for me.

I do have the net book for travel, that fits in the S just fine. ipad is on the wish list at some point. In the meanwhile, if the S2000 geek squad is in my neighborhood, they can check out my PC.

I knew I shouldn't have posted in here.....
Got home from work yesterday, and the PC was making some weird noises.....
Shut it down, vacuumed it out, blew it out.... and turned it back on...
NOTHING!!!
Went and disconnected every plug to the MB, HD's, on/off switch, etc....
STILL NOTHING!!!
Started thinking it was time to buy a new PC (this one is 5.5 years old)....
Started up the latptop to start shopping, and the desktop came on by itself!
Guess I had "tripped" something, most likely with the compressed air, and it finally reset!
But... going to go looking for a new PC over the next week or two.

Here is a question for all of you Apple users:
I have a MacBook Pro on which I have used Bootcamp to partition the hard drive and load Windows 8.1. I have the computer set to start in Windows. Every now and again I start in the Apple OS (usually to open a clients Quickbooks in the Mac format). When I start the computer in the Apple OS two programs open automatically, Quickbooks for Mac and Excel for Mac. How do I stop this from happening? Is there some sort of "Startup" application like in Windows? If so, where is it. I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

If you've had you MacBook for less than 90 days, Apple gives free support.
