simple question but a very complicated answer.
first up is operating system comparison.
memory speed and utilization percent.
WIFI or hardwire to router?
chip utilized by ethernet interface
PCI bus bandwidth.
processor architecture.
actual PC architecture
system configuration settings

These weren't in any specific order of importance.

I wouldn't expect to find a huge win in any single category but a lot of little 1, 2, 5, or 10% type increment here and there.

I do agree it is a big discrepancy though.

First things first. Are both connecting via WiFi or does one have an ethernet cable running from the computer to your router/modem?
You might want to call the service number of your Internet service provider. Maybe they are throttling down your connection speed for some reason.

I get 215/20 on my PC. I use the Wifi connection over hard wired. When I ran wires 27 years ago after I moved in, it was Cat 5 still, which has some speed limitations. I'm not running new wires.

Patty's numbers are atrocious though. I'd even consider just the basic configuration/network settings on her card. Getting some basic specs for the computers would help - even PC 10 years old, Win 7/8 and Laptop 2 years old Win 11.

WOW! I would be sitting there twiddling my thumbs at that speed. I just ran the speed test on my laptop via wifi and came up with 116.9 download & 107.2 upload.

I've never had fast internet because I'm thinking this is fast. Someday we'll get a speedy connection. There's a new internet service working its way through Loveland. I can't get it out here, outside of the city limits, yet.

I have comcrap as well. My normal speeds on any device I check using speedtest.net are around 362 down and 24 up. Upload kinda sucks, but doesn't really bother me.
