Has anyone heard of a frogmat? Any experience? And specifically does anyone know the material it is made of.

I have one at home, Works great for more delicate meats. Use it mostly when grilling fish. It's made of string mesh. Can't speak to the specific metal but it is non-stick.

ok never used it but this is the internet and opinions are free.

the frogmats website talks about smoking as opposed to grilling.
they don't look like they would like direct heat. I'm curious how folks use them too.

I should have clarified.. More for Indirect heat or smoking. I am thinking it would help keep the grill cleaner such as cooking chicken wings or fish. from the CDN site it looks like it would be $40 for my grill, designed for the right model

This looks like a great addition for "low and slow". I don't think it will take much heat. There are grates like it that will work for high heat, I have a "skillet" that is full of holes, and it works great for high heat cooking of fish.
