Spoiled by Honda. Light hydralic clutch and precise shift gates. In the Lotus Europa one was no the disadvantaged side of a mechanical clutch and a shifter that was so sloppy it seems like one could be in a given gear and still run the whole shift pattern while in that gear.

I have driven two and half ton trucks with a lighter clutch than that car.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It helps make up for the really crummy birthday that I had forty-two years ago today when JFK was assassinated.

I really enjoy being part of this community.

I am reminded that I had a "thing" for Lotus Europa's ever since Mrs. Peel drove one in the TV series "The Avengers". Then in 1969 while attending a three hour SCCA Endurance Race at Bridgehampton. Hey Matt, The Avengers was one of my favorite shows. I think Emma Peel drove the Elan. I'm not sure she ever drove the Europa. That might have been Tara King, Emma's replacement. Steed had the big Bently. Anyone who read the original James Bond novels by Ian Flemming knows that James Bond drove a blower Bently for most of the series.
