Happy Halloween!
Our development usually gets non-stop trick-or-treaters passing through, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In anticipation of this, we bought lots of candy, because we didn't want to run out, like we have previously. Well, tonight, we must have 2/3 of the candy we bought left, and it's well after 8:00.
Just what we need, more empty calories!

We had a fair amount of kids. The weather was beautiful. Around 8:15 I answered the door and it was a group of teens. All polite and all in costume. BUT when the trick or treaters aren't kids and it's after 8:00 PM lights are going out. I was passing out the fun size M&Ms. Went through about four bags of them. I've got left overs but that's OK...I won't pig out on those.

Neighbor brought over his 2 youngest. We buy a 6-pack of full size Snickers bars every year. Each girl got one, Dad got one for bringing them over, we sent one home for the older sister. That left one for each of us. Door closed, lights out, Halloween is over!

For the second year in a row we had zero trick or treaters. I bought some Reese's Minis and some Kit Kats just in case. Three years ago with had five. We live in a rural conservation area of Fairfax County out side of the town of Clifton and the only street light around is at the end of our driveway at a "T" intersection.
P.S. FWIIW: If you do have them knocking, after they say "Trick or Treat"? Ask them if I don't have a treat, what is your trick? It totally befuddles them! Perhaps, their first lesson in "thinking on their feet" or in critical thinking? When they are speechless, I gave them a treat and told them to think about it.Maybe that is why we don't have trick or treaters? But, we do have some candy to eat.
