Happy Canadian Thanksgiving (Monday Oct. 10) to all our northern neighbors. Any special plans?

After researching Canadian Thanksgiving on the Internet, I'm still not sure what you are celebrating or why you celebrate it on the second Monday in October. Sounds like it can be credited to any one of several historic events or just the general fall harvest and the date of the holiday was moved around quite a bit over the centuries.

We just enjoyed our Canadian Thanksgiving here in Michigan. I think it is a much more sensible time to have Thanksgiving, one is so busy planning Christmas when the US Thanksgiving comes around.
