I am happy that my daughter and her family left their home in Jacksonville to stay with a cousin a few hours to the west in Panama City Beach. I think its foolish to "sit it out" when something that serious is on the way.

I see over 800K are without power right now in FL, so my sis in Melbourne might be without for awhile.

Waiting to see how Val and Jim fare. As well as my niece in NC, although her house is not close to the water.

Two of my sisters and a niece are not far from Val. They are in Zone b, not evacuation zone..........at this point.

My sis understands if you do evacuate, you can't go back until you get the all clear....I don't know if that is a deterrent to some, but it seems to be a matter of safety if power lines are out, etc.

Hope all fare well.

I think Florida dodged a huge bullet on this one.
same track just to the ~100 miles to the west would have reeked phenomenal damage.
