Default Has anyone else noticed....

Seems like there are more and more people camped out in the hi-speed lane on the expressway!

I do a LOT of expressway driving..... and it just seems like this is getting worse and worse.

Drove to Charlotte to see the grandkids this w/e..... and it seemed like I passed more cars on the right than on the left! It was pass them on the right, or nudge them a bit to get them to move over!

Lots of people from Ontario just cruising in the left lane... guess that's how they are taught to drive...

Does this bother anyone else.. or is it just me?

^^^THIS IS MY #1 PET DRIVING PEEVE!!!!!!!!! GET THE F%$# IN THE RIGHT LANE IF YOU'RE NOT PASSING OR TURNING LEFT. No wonder I get road rage. Where or what were these people taught?? GRRRRRRR! Try flashing your brights at them...what do you get? >

On the positive side, when I drove to Las Vegas in 2010, I noticed that 99% of the drivers from Indiana to Nevada always stayed in the right lane unless passing. What a pleasure to drive through the Great Plains and mountain west states!

^^^ I couldn't agree more!!! Seattle area has got to be one of the worst offenders in the country, and to top that, they are totally passive aggressive about insuring that you will run at their 5-10mph under speed limit pace, in fact its not uncommon to have a couple Prius's actually team up together intentionally as a moving road block for you. You want to talk about road rage. My commute is 80 miles round trip per day, so its good times for sure

I think a lot of left lane drivers are absolutely oblivious when you flash your lights at them.
they don't have an F'ing clue why your flashing at them.

I have to say, I'd consider the breakdown lane if they were deliberately road blocking at 10 under.

I drive in Ontario very often and I find the drivers to be considerate and courteous. The driving consistently in the left lane seems to happen on the 401 from Mississauga to Toronto. (I don't travel east of Toronto very often) I fully understand it happening as there are so many lanes merging and exiting it seems to be the safest place to be. I must say I get bothered when someone in the left lane keeps the speed down to the speed limit or only ten over but usually they move over and the traffic runs a little faster.
Here in Michigan we have drivers whom I've heard say, "I'm driving the speed limit, I have a perfect right to be in the left lane!" It seems there is less effort needed when driving in the left lane so that is just what they do. It makes me angry.

Don't know about Michigan.... but I thought in most states its illegal to be cruising along in the left lane while not passing.

Wish the police would target that group of people... and let us speeders alone!

Wish peeps would stay in the right lane, tooooooo !!! So I can stay in the left lane, and not be weaving back and forth...while going a 100+....Makes it dangerous, going from right, to left, and back and forth, over & over

My opinion is the left lane slow driver mentality is spreading like a disease
Every year, it seems to get worse, regardless where I drive, anywhere in the Northeast or anywhere in Ontario

I drove 230 miles yesterday, about 2/3rds of it on freeways and some on a two-lane road. I didn't have much trouble out here in southern California. On one stretch, Interstate 15, the speed limit is 70 mph and people drive closer to 80. I think we tend to be lead foots out here, on weekdays.

I have the perfect solution. Buy a 50 year old MG or any sports car from 50s or 60s. Of course, it has to be with a top that goes down. Take the secondary roads and smell the roses. Don't worry the time. Stop often, especially if you run into a slow poke. This works best if you have a navigator who screams if you go too fast!
